Dr. Gore's Spotlight Film:
House Of Wax (2005)

House Of Wax (2005)Apparantly all the good horror movies were already made, because the only way to get anyone's attention these days is to produce a remake. I have to say though, most of the remakes being produced are at least watchable and this is one of them.

A group of friends are on their way to a football game and they decide to stop to get some rest. After some car trouble, they stumble upon a seemingly abandoned town and eventually run into it's local psychos who are keeping the town wax museum alive and well.

The film takes a while to get going. I was quite bored the first 40 minutes or so, but when the action kicks in it's quite entertaining. The film makes up for the slow start with a good amount of gore and pretty brutal kills. I personally liked Paris Hilton's death scene the best.

The film felt more like a remake of the late 70's film Tourist Trap with the use of a Wax Museum instead of psychotic looking dolls.
